Idaho Dog Park

Get to Know Our Mission

Thank you for choosing the Idaho Dog Park, and welcome to our family! Idaho Dog Park works tirelessly daily to provide the highest quality dog daycare, boarding, dog spa, and client service to our valued friends in the region. We maintain the highest animal health care standards of any dog daycare facility in the Treasure Valley.

We aim to make every dog and dog parent feel heard and cared for. The level of care we provide exceeds any other daycare in Treasure Valley. You'll be able to sense it from the moment you walk through the door. Our passion is evident in our every interaction with your pet: the way we sit with dogs during meal times, take them on private walks to sit in the grass if they're feeling stressed, bring them into the breakroom with us while we eat our lunch if they need extra one-on-one time, and look out for our senior dogs to make sure their kennels are warm and cozy and easy on their joints - the list goes on!

Our goal is to ensure everyone is, first and foremost, SAFE, including the dog's anxiety and stress levels. Secondly, we want to ensure every pup feels loved and not just a number. Not only do Scott, Jen, and Laura have a passion for dogs, but their staff makes Idaho Dog Park genuinely great! Our technicians are handpicked and continue to make Idaho Dog Park better by sharing that passion, attention to detail, and subtle cues to behavior. The bond we form with our Idaho Dog Park dogs is the most rewarding gift we could ever imagine!

A Family - Scott and Jennifer Nichols

A Family Affair - Scott and Jennifer Nichols

Scott and Jennifer Nichols have lived in Boise for over 30 years. Scott hails originally from Michigan and loves riding his mules and training pointers. Jennifer is from Colorado and loves every kind of dog but has a soft spot for her Bernese Mountain dogs.

Scott and Jennifer are both graduates of Colorado State University and are the proud parents of two amazing daughters who grew up loving the outdoors and animals. Their daughter Kelsey showed horses in 4-H and open shows, is a graduate of BSU, and manages a sheep ranch in California.

Their daughter Laura helps lead the Idaho Dog Park as its General Manager. Idaho Dog Park is an extension of our love for our pets and family and a positive way to share that with other pet owners.

Laura Nichols

Laura Nichols - General Manager

Hi, my name is Laura! I manage Idaho Dog Park working alongside my parents, whom I adore!

In 2016 I graduated from the College of Idaho with a major in Biology. From there, I traveled abroad to work in Kenya and Tanzania. Although I was there to pursue a medical career, I spent every minute of my spare time raising money for a street dog in Tanzania, which pushed me to reevaluate my plans.

After working in a doggie daycare leading up to graduation, my parents graciously offered me the opportunity to be part of their dream, and the rest was history!

My husband, Justin, and I love camping and being parents to our beautiful son Leo. We're also proud parents of four fur babies, two llamas, and six chickens!

I am honored to be part of this amazing company, and I look forward to seeing all our clients every day!!

Keana

Keana - Assistant Manager Since August 2020

Aloha! I'm Keana! Animals have been my passion my whole life. My pack includes my handsome shepherd Loki, a bunny named Tesseract, three lizards, two axolotls, a mouse, and some fish!!

You'll also often catch Hela, Loki's sister, by my side! Growing up, I loved the movie "Hotel for Dogs"; it always looked like something I would want to do someday. Doggie daycare is PRETTY close to a "hotel" for dogs! I absolutely love my job!!

Katie

Katie - Assistant Manager Since October 2020

Hi, my name is Katie! My dream job has always been to work with dogs, so when I got my interview at IDP, I knew I couldn't pass it up! Dogs have always been my passion since I was a little girl. In my family, we currently have Marley, a St. Bernese and Bear, a St. Bernard. These two pups are my whole world. My goal one day it to have my own dog farm!(:

Renee

Reneé - Procedure Trainer Since 2019

Hello there! I'm Reneé. I'm living my best semi-retired life at IDP! I met my rescue baby Kaiya at IDP. I can't imagine my life without her💞 Working in an environment where loving and caring for dogs and kitties was the perfect transition after 20 years as an educator and counselor.

I also gained experience caring for rescue dogs in China and the Middle East. I'm blessed to be part of the IDP family❣

Bailey

Mo - Dog Behavior Trainer Since October 2021

Hi! My name is Mo, and I’ve loved dogs and animals since the day I was born. I started working with dogs when I was 17 years old and have learned so much. Being with dogs and working with them is a passion of mine. It’s so fulfilling to be around them and to learn their way of living; in the moment. Our canine babies can teach us so much and their unconditional loyalty, love, and forgiveness is something every human should try to learn from their pup. I hope to be a dog trainer one day, as I’m fascinated with how our fur babies communicate with each other, and the different ways they can thrive.

Bailey

Bailey - Shift Lead Since January 2021

Well hello! I'm Bailey.

I have had a soft spot for animals for as long as I can remember. I've had a lot of animals over the years, but my current pack consists of three dogs - Barrett, River, and Sugar - and two cats. I've been working closely with dogs for a couple of years, as I worked for a groomer before switching to Idaho Dog Park. I absolutely love my job (and so does Barrett)!

Hello! My name is Cynica! I adore animals and have wanted to work with them my whole life. I have three beautiful boys, a dog named Xeno and two orange cats named Sokka and Bynx. I am super passionate about working with dogs and hope to be a trainer or vet tech assistant someday!

For now, I’m definitely in love with being a kennel technician at Idaho Dog Park. Ensuring all the dogs have a wonderful stay with us brings me so much joy!

Phoebe

Phoebe - Attendant Since July 2021

Hey, my name is Phoebe! My Presa Canario, Neera, is basically my entire personality. I’ve always loved dogs and wanted to do something with them for work, and now I have really found somewhat of a home with IDP!

Paige

Paige - Attendant Since November 2021

Hi, my name is Paige. I have lived with furry friends my whole life. My puppy Lexi is my entire world, and I don't know where I would be without her and my other pets.

I grew up wanting to be a veterinarian when I was a kid! But I recently switched my interests to being a K-9 trainer or patrol officer! Hopefully, the skills I gain at IDP will help me fulfill my lifelong dreams of helping dogs and people.

IDP has been a second home for me. Working here has opened my eyes to hands-on work with dogs and constant teamwork with amazing people. I am so glad I can learn, grow, and be a part of this delightful family.

Jaclyn

Jaclyn - Shift Lead Since December 2021

Hi, I'm Jaclyn! I'm a student at BSU studying biology, so I can one day work in habitat conservation. My dog Kona and I love hiking and paddle boarding, and she is an awesome little adventure buddy (especially if a game of fetch is involved). She and I love the positive environment of IDP and look forward to all the time we get to spend here!

Hannah

Bri - Attendant Since August 2022

Hiya, the name's Bri, short and sweet unlike any of my stories!

I'm so blessed to have joined the caring family at IDP shortly after adopting an adventurous and loyal Aussie Border Collie puppy during the summer of 2022. My love monkey, later named Abu, quickly stole my heart, my schedule, and all of my couch cushions!

My goal is to mesh my future Prosthetic Engineer career with the incredibly rewarding world our furry friends have to offer! I'm eagerly learning to recognize and understand dog behaviors every day, engaging in genuine attention as well as strive for a comfortable, confident, and safe experience during each of your meatballs' stay. Abu and I welcome you into our journey with open paws!

Faith- Attendant Since August 2022

Hey i’m Faith!! I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but my rescue dog Hatch- who my family was lucky enough to adopt through Laura and IDP- was the reason I decided to apply to work here. It turned out to be one of the best decisions i’ve made! I work part time as I am working through high school. I want to be a teacher when I’m older, as well as continuing to work with dogs. I’m so grateful to be a part of the IDP community.
